William Bernard Johnson 76, of Idaho Falls passed away July 18, 2013 at his home. He was under the care of Hands of Hope Hospice.

He was born July 17, 1939 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Arthur Glen Johnson and Irma Ardella Smith Johnson.

William "Bill" attended the Poplar School and continued his education in Ririe graduating from Ririe High School. Bill played basketball at Ririe High School, and being the star player, he holds the record of 50 points shot in one game. He enjoyed horse racing, golf, gardening fishing and hunting. He attended Idaho State University in Pocatello.

He married Darlene Wessman and they had one daughter, Treena. He joined the National Guard and served as Private 1st class and as a cook at Fort Lewis, Washington. Bill and Darlene later divorced.

Bill lived in Idaho Falls for 35 years. He started out as a car salesman and eventually bought and managed his own business, Classic Used Cars. Later, he purchased and ran the Classic Bar in Idaho Falls. As a side venture, he started selling worms to other local businesses around town and did very well with this endeavor.

He married Ilene M. Parr Kisner on May 4, 2001 in Jefferson County.

Bill is survived by his wife, Ilene, of Idaho Falls; daughter, Treena Johnson Hammon, of Rigby; stepsons: David (Janette) Kisner, of Middleton, John (Joanna) Kisner, of South Ogden, UT, Kenneth (Valena) Kisner, of Rigby, Larry (Susan) Moore, of HI, and Mark Moore, of Idaho Falls; stepdaughter, Kathy Demott, of Lava Hot Springs; brother, Richard G. (Pat, deceased) Johnson, of Ririe; 21 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Donna; and one brother, Keith.

Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at the Ririe -Shelton Cemetery, with military rites performed by the Bonneville County Veteran's Team.
