|Death: ||Apr. 3, 1977|
Thea was born and grew up in Christian County, MO to Robert and Nola (Dickerson) Aleshire. At his birth, his parents decided he was too small to have a middle name. He slept in a shoe box. He had 15 siblings but half of them passed away at childbirth or as toddlers.
He married Ruthie Alma Winkle on April 12, 1935 and they raised two daughters, Beulah and Janice. They owned and operated a country store for several years in the Mt. Zion area of Dade County. Thea worked for General Mills in Kansas City for several years before returning to Dade County where he raised cattle on a small farm northeast of Greenfield near Stockton Lake.
He was a hard core Democrat and he loved to work the polls on election days. He was a member of the Greenfield Oddfellow Chapter. He loved to fish and go out in search of morel mushrooms in season. He played guitar and fiddle at times when there was a group of musicians gathering together to jam in the local area.
Thea was a hard worker but always made time to be with his children and grandkids. He always had good jokes to tell around the dinner table.
Thea is the nephew of the late Lennie Aleshire, Ozarks Jubilee, ABC-TV.
