Edwin Enoch Carter
Friends and neighbors of Edwin Enoch Carter, aged 75 years, will regretto learn of his death which occured this morning at 5:20 at his home at 410 Adams Street, following an illness of three years with complications.
Mr. Carter was born in Niles on June 27, 1850, the son of the late Thomasand Truth Carter, who founded the Globe Foundry there. In his early manhood he went to Waynesburg, Pa. where he lived until thirty years ago when he came to Warren.
He was married twice, his wife and three children preceding him in death. Later he married Miss Mary Syphier of Waynesburg, and she now survives him with two daughters. Mrs. Kate Forsyhe and Mrs. Harold Pickup, a son Fred Carter of Warren; three grandchildren, and three brothers, Charles, Thomas and William Carter of Niles. Mr. Carter was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian church, and by his high standard of integrity and genial disposition had many friends.
Funeral services will be held at his home on Adams street, Monday afternoon at two o'clock. When Rev. Smith will officiate. Burial will take place in Union Cemetery in Niles.
