Caleb died unexpectedly from an unknown medical condition Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at Genesis Medical Center-East Rusholme Street, Davenport.
Caleb was born Dec. 2, 1995, in Davenport, a son of Matthew Robert and Kimberly Marie (Lannholm) Neff.
Caleb was a wonderful young man; he was the child every parent prays to be blessed with in their life. He was a courteous, conscientious person who always stepped forward to help others. He was a great friend to those who needed a friend and would place those special friends under his wing to make sure they felt welcomed.
Caleb attended Holy Family Catholic Grade School and would have been a senior this fall in the class of 2014 at Davenport Assumption High School. He was truly proud to be an Assumption Knight student. Athletically, he had participated in football and soccer. He was a member of the Thespian Club and found great comfort in his natural talent in the performing arts. Caleb was involved in several plays and productions at Assumption, and he most recently was selected to serve as vice president of the International Thespian Club representing the Knight Players.
Outside of school, Caleb's interests were numerous. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially, camping and fishing. He found great contentment sitting near the camp fire, often gazing at the stars and enjoying God's beauty in nature. He cherished the annual trip to the Boundary Waters and was looking forward to beginning a new chapter in life — hunting. His family is comforted by his many close friends. Caleb truly loved them all. Whether a new friend or a lifelong buddy, he made them feel that they were important and that they were special.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Caleb P. Neff Memorial Fund to honor Caleb's life.
