Fifth Victim of Fire
Dies In Hospital
The fifth victim of the fire of last Wednesday morning Victor H. Silveus, died in the Waynesburg hospital Monday night, December 28. His death was caused by a fractured skull and other injuries sustained by the fall of the west wall of the Grossman building. Mr. Silveus was one of the brave volunteer workers at the fire, four of whom died when the avalanche of bricks fell upon them.
Victor Hoy Silveus was a son of the late George Silveus and Mrs. Anna Lippencott Silveus. He was born in Waynesburg and attended the local schools and for a time was a student in Kiskiminitas, Saltzburg, Pa. He was employed on the Greene county engineering corps. On August 21, 1925 he was united in marriage with Miss Mildred Adams, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Adams of Saltzburg.
Beside his wife and mother he is survived by one brother, Charles A. Silveus, of New York. Funeral services will be held in the Parish House of the First Presbyterian church, Thursday afternoon, conducted by Rev. James E. Wilson. Interment in Oakmont cemetery.
