CURWENSVILLE

Firmin John Allison, 79, of
Allegheny St., Curwens-
ville, died Thursday, Feb.
23, at the Clearfield Hospi-
tal.

Born April 22, 1904, in
Westover, he was a son of
John and Viola (Kitchen)
Allison. He was retired
from Olin Mathiason in
Niagra Falls, where he
was employed as a chemi-
cal operator.

Mr. Allison is survived
by his wife, the former
Pearl Hollend, and the fol-
lowing childre; John and
Joyce of Owego, N.y.;
Paul of Tonawanda, N.Y.;
Mrs. LeRoy (Judy)
Vargason of Nichols, N.Y.,
three step-children, Ed
Stonebraker of Curwens-
ville; Mrs. Bernard
(Marge) Haney of Wood-
land; Mrs. Ed (Alice)
Wonk of Houston, Texas;
15 grandchildren, 13 step-
grandchildren, 17 great-
grandchildren and 10 step-
great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are these
brothers and sisters:
clyde "Friday" Allison,
Curwensville; Mrs. Betty
Matthews and Thomas
Allison, both of Grampian;
Mrs. Kenneth (Emma)
Green, DuBois; Mrs.
Wilber (Maude) Rowles,
Phoenix, Ariz.; Blair
Allison, Conessus, N.Y.;
and 15 half-brothers and
sisters.

He was preceded in
death by his parents; a
daughter, Mrs. Tom
(Grace) Shaeffer; a
grandson, Robert Car-
rigan III, and three
brothers, James, Stanley
and Eddie.

Mr. Allison was a life-
time member of the Cur-
wensville Rescue Hose and
Ladder Co., a former
member of the Curwens-
ville Moose and was affili-
ated with the Calvary
Baptist Church in Cur-
wensville.

Services will be held to-
morrow at 2 p.m. in the
Chester C. Chidboy
Funeral Home Inc., with
the Rev. Martin A. Wright
officiating. Interment
will be in Oak Hill Cemetery,
Curwensville.

Friends will be received
at the funeral home from 2
p.m. today until the time of
services tomorrow.

The family suggest do-
nations be made to the
American Cancer Society.
