Louis A. Williams, 83, 1224 13th Street NW, a longtime Cedar Rapids resident, died Friday in St. Luke's Hospital following a short illness.
He was born April 13, 1905, at Northwood and married Bernice Trimble May 19, 1927, at Waverly. She died in 1983. Mr. Williams was a printer for The Gazette for 27 years, retiring in 1976. He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, the Mizpah Masonic Lodge No. 639 A.F.&A.M., and the retired Typographical Union.
Survivors include two sons, Richard of Woodland Hills, Calif., and Robert of Littleton, Colo.; three daughters, JoAnne Grissel of Fort Worth, Texas, Shirley Henyan of Tucson, Ariz., and Barbara Rosenberg of Cedar Rapids; a brother, Gordon of Waterloo; a sister, Vivian Cairy of Boulder, Colo.; 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday, Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories by the Rev. Lloyd Brockmeyer of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. Masonic services by Mizpah Masonic Lodge No. 639 A.F.& A.M. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park. Friends may call at Cedar
Memorial Funeral Home from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday and at the Chapel after 9 a.m. Tuesday. The casket will be closed prior to the service. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 375 Collins Rd. N.E. Cedar Rapids.
