Mary was the daughter of William and Catherine (Akan) Bean. She married Jordan Neil Bean in 1888 and they had three children: William Neil, Errol and Robley.

Bridger Woman Dies at Billings
Mrs. May Bean, 82, Was State Pioneer
Mrs. May Bean 82, of Bridger died at 1 p.m. Friday at a Billings hospital of diabetes and complications of age.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Bridger Methodist Church, with the Rev. Mr. Sutton, church pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Bridger Cemetery. The Settergren funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
Born Nov 26, 1868 at Lima, Wis., Mrs. Bean was the daughter of Mrs. William Bean. She was married to Jordan N. Bean Sept. 9, 1888 at Lima. Soon after their marriage, Mr. & Mrs. Bean moved to east Rosebud, where Mr. Bean had lived since 1884.
In 1893 they moved to Piney creek at the foot of the Pryor Mountains, where they homesteaded and lived until 1906, when they moved to a ranch one-half mile south of Bridger. After the death of Mr. Bean Sept. 14, 1948, Mrs. Bean moved into Bridger.
She was a charter member of Cornelius Hedges chapter, Order of Eastern Star of Bridger, and was a past worthy matron.
Surviving are a son, Neil Bean of Lockwood flat in Billings; two sisters, Mrs. Belle Lawther of Absarokee and Mrs. Margaret Hutchinson of Seattle, seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
