Dwight was born the son of Byron Fred and Nimma Augusta Beaman Gott on Feb 3, 1916 in Ouray Co, Colorado.
In the 1940 US Federal Census Los Angeles Co, CA, his occupation is listed as a sprayman, completed 2 years of high school, had lived in Spencer, IN in 1935, and his brother, Leslie Gott is also living in his household.
He served in WWII, enlisting Apr 17, 1945 at Fort MacArthur in San Pedro, CA. He was assigned to the 1306th Engineer General Service Regiment. He was discharged honorably on May 25, 1946 as a Private First Class in Company D. At the time of his enlistment, he was single and of the Christian faith.
His flat granite military headstone was ordered April 1, 1949.
