Mrs. Louise Kistler, 61, RR 1, died Friday at her residence near Royerton following an illness of several months. She was the wife of Forest Kistler and former co-owner of the Rustic Cabin.
A native of Linn Grove in Adams County, Mrs. Kistler graduated from high school there and came to Muncie in 1935. She was married in 1936, and she and her husband operated Kistler's Food Market at 16th and Hackley streets for several years before purchasing the Rustic Cabin in 1956. The business was sold last year following 20 years of operation.
Mrs. Kistler was a member of Madison Street United Methodist Church, the Warner Gear Sympathy Club, and the Wednesday Nigh Euchre Club. She was a charter member of the Pilot Club.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, James and David Kistler, both of Muncie; a daughter, Mrs. Sharon Vise, Yorktown; her mother, Mrs. Orilla Studler, Ft. Wayne; 13 grandchildren; a brother, Russell Studler, Ft. Wayne; and three sisters, Miss Helen Studler, Ft. Wayne, Mrs. Joan Miller, Milwaukee, Wis., and Mrs. Naomi Alexander, Columbia City.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Meeks Mortuary with Rev. Donald Carpenter and Rev. William Meddock officiating. Interment will be in Gardens of Memory. Friends may call at the mortuary after 2 p.m. Sunday or any time prior to services Monday. The Rustic Cabin restaurant will be closed Monday in respect to the death of its former owner, Mrs. Kistler.
