Mickey Owen
Original name: Arnold Malcolm Owen
Birth: Apr. 4, 1916
Death: Jul. 13, 2005

Major League Baseball Player. He began his 17 year career in 1937 with the St. Louis Cardinals. His most noted moment was a flub in the 1941 World Series against the New York Yankees. As the Brooklyn Dodgers catcher, he dropped a third strike in a 4-3 lead in Game 4 which would have ended the game. The baserunner went on to score and the Dodgers lost the game and eventually the series. After his retirement, he went on the found a baseball school and serve as Greene County, Missouri sheriff for 16 years.  (bio by: Robert)
