Iranian Hostage. Iranian born naturalized American citizen, he was one of the over 60 Americans taken hostage by Iranian students in 1980. He was one of a few hostages who was not part of the diplomatic corps but was an engineer for the Hughes Corporation. He was released on February 4 1981, 15 days after most of the other hostages were released.
