Funeral services for John “Skip” Hanlon were held May 10, 2001, at St. Andrews Methodist Church in Omaha. Interment was in the Blair Cemetery. Mr. Hanlon died May 6 at Immanuel Hospital in Omaha.

John Robert Hanlon, Jr. was born July 6, 1950 in Fremont to John and Kathleen (Moynihan) Hanlon. He graduated from Pius High School in 1969 and then attended Southeast Community College. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War.

On July 31, 1976, he married Margaretta Nilson in Blair. Mr. Hanlon was employed with the Maxim Group as a computer consultant at the time of his death.

He is survived by his wife, Margi, two children, Christopher and Andrea Jo, all of Omaha, parents, John and Kathleen Hanlon of Lincoln, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Cleo and Robert Liebl of Germantown, Md., Teri and David Vaughn of Phoenix, Md., sister, Kathleen Hanlon and friend, Nick Adolf, of Billings, Mont., brother and sister-in-law, Will and Susan Hanlon of Terrytown, N.Y., and sister-in-law, Jackie Hanlon of Mr. Home, Ark.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair was in charge of arrangements.
