Julia Bendorf, 93

Services for Julia Bendorf, 93, of Eureka, California and formerly of Blair, are 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 29 at First Methodist Church in Blair. Burial will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Julie Jackson Bendorf was born March 1, 1897 in Herman to Nelson and Julia King Jackson. She grew up in Herman and went to Herman High School.

She attended Wayne State Teacher’s College and received a teaching degree after which she taught elementary school.

She was a member of First United Lutheran Church in Blair. She also belonged to the Order of Eastern Star, Rebeccas, Daughters of the Nile, American Legion Auxiliary and PEO.

She married Chris K. Bendorf October 23, 1927. They had two children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chris K.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Thomasine and Dr. John Slater and a son, Charles Bendorf, all of Eureka, California; three grandchildren, John, Charles and Julia; one great-grandchild, Joelle; and many nieces and nephews.

Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home in Fort Calhoun is in charge of arrangements.
