Henry A. Bayer of Kennard, Nebraska, died suddenly April 27 at Veterans Hospital in Omaha at the age of 82 years.
He was born in Burt County February 15, 1890. In his youth he lived in Pender and later attended Boyle Business College in Omaha.
He moved to Hooper where he joined the Army in 1918, and played in the Army band. After his discharge he returned to Hooper.
He married Bertha Mary Havekost of Coleridge, Nebraska. They lived at Winner, South Dakota two years and then moved to Dixon, Nebraska and farmed there until 1939, when they moved to Kennard, Nebraska.
To this union was born 3 children, twins, Vernon of Mesa, Arizona and Mrs. Raymond (Marian) Wilson of Blair, and Erma (Mrs. Edwin Moser) of Omaha, Nebr. His wife preceded him in death April of 1958.
Surviving are the three children, 7 grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. W. A. McFarland of Portland, Oregon. Besides his parents, 8 sisters and brothers preceded him in death.
Funeral services are being held this afternoon at Bendorf Funeral Home in Blair.
