NOTE: William and Delilah are not buried here...this is a memorial to them and family. William is actually buried in the First United Methodist Church Cemetery in Franklin, NC. He died there while visiting his son. His wife Delilah is buried in Hiawassee, GA.

Delilah is the daughter of Jane and John Duncan. She married William Addington Bet. 23 Dec 1782 - 1784 near Duncan's Creek, Newberry Co., SC. They had 13 children:

Unnamed Addington - Died as infant
Jane Addington
JOHN ADDINGTON
Henry Addington
Sarah Addington
Moses Addington
William Addington
James Addington
March Addington
Martha Addington
Delilah Tillithey Addington
Mary "Polly" Addington
Elizabeth Addington

In 1787 Will inherited his father's plantation in Union Co., SC with instructions to provide for his mother. Soon after 1800 he and Delilah sold the farm and moved to Buncombe Co., NC where they lived for 20 years. In the early 1820's they moved west to what is now Macon Co., NC with several of their married children and their families. The 1830 census shows William, John, Henry, Moses, James and March Addington, Jeremiah Harrison, and Drury Logan as heads of households in Macon Co., but no land record has been found there for William. About 1836 William and Delilah moved again, this time to Blairsville, Union Co. GA.
