Services Here for A. Nelson Brabrook
Services were held yesterday in the Haggard Funeral chapel for A. Nelson Brabrook who died Sunday in New York City after an illness of six months. Dr. Charles Ferguson Ball officiated, and burial followed in Forest Home.
Mr. Brabrook was born and raised at 331 South Lombard, and lived there until 30 years ago when he went to New York, where he was in business for himself. He was graduated from Oak Park-River Forest high school and the University of Illinois. During World War I he was commissioned an ensign in the United States naval reserve at Pelham Bay, N. Y. Following his period of service he toured Cuba, South America and throughout the United States. He always returned to the village for Christmas and other holidays. He was a member of the Fifth Avenue Presbyterian church, New York, and of Beta Theta Phi fraternity.
His mother, Mrs. Arthur Lincoln Brabrook of Maywood, formerly 57 years of the Lombard address, survives. His father, preceded him in death. Two sisters, Mrs. Willard B. Coles of Lincoln, Neb., and Mrs. W. Scott Minter of River Forest, also survive. Oak Park Oak Leaves June 4, 1953
