Under the training and promotion of Antonio Inoki, Hashimoto won the IWGP title over Kenji Muto then lost to Tatsumi Fujinami seven months later into 1994. A month later he regained the title from Fujinami. One year later he lost to Muto in 1995. In 1996 he won his third IWGP title beating Nobuhiko Takada. He held the title for 16 months before losing to Kensuke Sasaki in 1997. A big man compared to most Japanese wrestlers, his best matches were against Inoki, Hulk Hogan, Big Van Vader and Masahiro Chono. Due to his long reign with the third title he was considered among Japan`s greats. He suffered a shoulder injuty late in 2004 which he didnt recover from and promoted for Zero One.
