Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon in the Sevier stake tabernacle for John Lester Ogden, 52, who died at his home in Richfield at noon Thursday of a heart ailment and complications. He had been ill several weeks.

Bishop Alex Jensen of the Third ward conducted the services. The speakers were C. A. Mattsson, Christian Peterson. N. J. Bates, President E. W. Poulson of the Sevier stake and Bishop Jensen. A double mixed quartet composed of Mrs. Otto L. Anderson, Mrs. Stanley Johnson, Mrs. Harold Nielson, Mrs Roy Christensen, Tammage DeLange, Floyd Bell, Roy Christensen and Clarence Littlewood with Mrs. Golden R. Buchanan as accompanist sang, "Though Deepening in Trials," "Oh My Father," and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere." Talmage DeLange sang, 'Face to Face." The invocation was by Orson F. Christensen; the benediction by G. W. Coons. F. M. Ogden of the stake presidency dedicated the grave, interment being in the city cemetery.

Pallbearers were John W. Stewart, George Sorenson, Henry Peterson, Joseph Hansen, C. P. Christensen and Chas L. Ogden.

Mr. Ogden had been successful as a farmer and was president of the South Sevier Sugar Beet Growers Association until his resignation a short time before his death. Mr. Ogden had served as on an L. D. S. missionary in the eastern states from 1914 to 1916 and later served as Sunday school superintendent in the Third ward. He had been a counselor in the Third ward bishopric and had worked in the M. I. A.

Born in Richfield, July 1, 1886, a son of John and Martha Outzen, he had resided here all his life. He married Georgia Hatch at Richfield on July 28, 1906.

Surviving besides his widow are three daughters and three sons, Delma, Harold, Max, Darlene, Barbara, and Calvin Ogden all of Richfield; one sister, Mrs. Walter Hansen of Richfield and the following half-brothers and sisters: Eugene Orrock of Ely, Nevada, Mrs. Irene Curtis and Mrs. Alta Anderson of Richfield and Mrs. Hillard Vorhees of Manti.
