Most of the information that Joyce has found on Wilbur has been from a letter written to her from Nancy Blaine of 453 McKell Avenue, Greenfield, Oh 45123. Postmarked 1993. Also in 1992 Joyce went to the probate court in Washington C.H., Ohio, Fayette County and found birth record. Information is in a cookbook put out by the Hollar family. While there Joyce met a cousin by the name of Dallas Carman who also live and worked (for the State-policeman) in Greenfield and we talked about the family. I also received a letter from Kenneth Kerr dated January 19, 1954.

Wilbur Clifton Carman was borne on November 19, 1879 to the parents of Williams Henry Carman and Lydia Alme Ross. Wilbur married Bessie Agnes Hollar and they raised seven children living either in Ross county or Fayette County. First child being Myrtle Marie Carman borne March 16, 1907; died November 6, 1954. Next was another daughter Marquerite Helen Carman on January 19, 1909; died January 22, 1909, less than a year another child, this time a son, was borne and named Theodore Edward Carman on January 8, 1910, dies June 3, 1978. Two years later a daughter by the name of Audra Lucille Carman was borne. She died July 14, 1990. Two years later a son, Robert Othal Carman, was born on September 05, 1914, and died on June 9, 1968. Three years later they were blessed with another son, Kenneth Kerr Carman, on September 16, 1917 (still living as of March 10, 1996. Two years later a daughter, Evelyn Irene Carman was borne on September 23, 1919, died December 4, 1931. Wilbur outlived three of his children. Wilbur died on May 12, 1954 while living at 347 Lafayette Street, Greenfield, Oh, Highland County. According to the death certificate Wilbur was a Farmer.. SS#272-14-9938. Informant was Bessie Carman. Wilbur died of Paralysis Agitans, chronic arterioscleroses. Burial on May 14, 1954 at South Salem Cemetery.

Service for Wilbur C. Carman, 74, 347 Lafayette St., will be held Friday at 2 P.M. in the Murray funeral home, with Rev. Frank Milner in charge. Burial will be made in South Salem cemetery. He died Wednesday.

William C. Carman, May 12, 1954. William C. Carman, 74, retired farmer and past worthy president of the Eagles lodge, died today in his home, 345 Lafayette St. He had been ill for eight years.
A native of Fayette county; he was born 11-19-1879, a son of William and Lydia Ross Carman.
He was married to Bessie Hollar, who survives with two daughters and three sons; Mrs. Walter Beechler, Lyndon, Rt. 1, Mrs. Mora Putckett, Rt. 3, Robert Carman, Kenneth of Dayton and Theodore, at home; two brothers, Harry Carman, of New Holland, and John Carman, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and 19 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchjildren. He was pre-deceased by two daughters.
Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the Murray funeral home with Rev. Frank Milner officiating. Interment will be made in South Salem cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 8 a.m. Thursday.
Members of Paint Aerie 1325, will conduct ritualistic service in the funeral home Thursday at 8 p.m.
