Somerset Daily American, May 2, 1977:

Mrs. Carrie G. Shaulis, 76, of Jerome, formerly of Friedens, died April 30, 1977, at Somerset Community Hospital. She was born Dec. 3, 1900, in Listie, daughter of the late Herman and Matilda (Claycomb) Dunmeyer. Preceded in death by her husband, Norman in 1972,a brother and two sisters. Survived by the following children: Mrs. Dolly Koontz of Somerset RD 1; Mrs. Minnie Daniels, and Earl J. and Eugene A., all of Glen Rock, Pa.; Mrs. Marie Putnam, Rockwood RD 3; Norman Jr., Friedens RD 2; and Homer of Jerome. Also 19 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. A sister of Mrs. Lucy Hassell, Johnstown and Mrs. Mary Custer, Somerset. Member of Beulah United Methodist Church. Funeral service will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Beulah United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dean Piser, the Rev. Wesley Spahn and the Rev. Elwood Vandiver officiating. Interment, Church Cemetery. Friends are being received Monday and Tuesday at the Wilbur D. Miller Funeral Home.
