Abigail McDaniel, daughter of Edward Lawrence McDaniel and Elizabeth [née McCaw] McDaniel, was born in the bounds of Chester District, South Carolina on February 27th 1786. Her family were members of Old Purity Presbyterian and Hopewell A.R.P. churches.
In about 1810, Abigail married Robert Mills, son of James and Isabella [née Lesslie] Mills; with whom she had the following known children:
