She was born Dec. 18, 1919, in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine, and came to Sarasota 18 years ago from Marblehead, Mass. She was a homemaker. She was a former member of the New Sarasotans and a member of Old North Congregational Church in Marblehead. She graduated from Vesper George College of Art in Boston.

Survivors include her husband, Ernest; three daughters, Jane of Boston, Leanne Galante of Wellesley, Mass., and Claire of Columbus, Ohio; two sons, David of Windham, N.H., and Peter of Lunenburg, Mass.; and seven grandchildren.

Services will be announced. National Cremation Society, Sarasota chapter, is in charge.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society (for breast cancer research), 1750 17th St., Suite A, Sarasota, FL 34234; or to the YMCA Safe Place Program, c/o YMCA Children, Youth & Family Services, 25 N. School Ave., Sarasota, FL 34237.
