The spelling of Cernena is how her name is spelled on her headstone. The following is further information which may help clear up the different spellings for her name.

The 1891 Census of Canada record is very light, but by darkening the photo and by inverting the colors on it, you can see that there is no "l" in her name and appears to be spelled Cernena. However, her name was transcribed as Celena. Those listed on the census were:
Alfred E.S., 28 years, born in NS
Cernena G., 24 years, born in NS
Leta M., 2 years., born in NS

The 1901 Census of Canada record, has her name as Minnie. She was a widow, working as a baker. They were boarders living in the Fred Allen household. The name listed for Cernena may have been a mistake, as the households were split between two pages. Fred's daughter, Minnie, was listed at the bottom of one page, and Cernena is listed as Minnie on the top of the next page. Those listed on the census were:
Fred Allen, head, born 16 Nov 1882 in NS
Maggie Allen, wife, born 2 Sept 1866, in NS
Minnie S Allen, daughter, born 12 October, in NS
Minne Eldridge, boarder, 25 March 1866, NS
Leta May, boarder, 14 Oct 1889, NS
James H, boarder, 20 April 1893, NS

The 1911 Census of Canada record, clearly has her name spelled Cernena when the census is enlarged. However, her name was transcribed as Gertrue. Those listed on the census were:
Cernena Grande, widow, born May 1867, NS
James Harvey, son, born Apr 1893, NS
Leta May, daughter, born Oct 1889, NS

Her name is listed as Cerlena on her son's WWI record.
