Don W. Valentine, age 83, a resident of Colorado Springs since 2003 and formerly a longtime resident of the Boulder, Colorado, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on September 22, 2011 in Colorado Springs.

Don was born on March 14, 1928 in Edgerton, Wyoming, a son of the late Glenn and Mary Lou Nohr Valentine. He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served with the US Army. He was a longtime member of the Board of Directors of Camp Elim. Don attended Northeast Bible Chapel and previously attended Boulder Bible Chapel and Fairview Bible Chapel. Don had a strong faith in Christ. He was a graphic artist and illustrator and retired in 1993 from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in Boulder and had also worked for the National Bureau of Standards. He was an accomplished artist; his work has been published all over the world.

He is survived by his wife, Eldonna, 4 sons, David (Marion) of Aurora, Dan (Margaret) of Colorado Springs, Scott (Ginger) of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Mark (Juli) of Port Angeles, Washington, 6 granddaughters and 1 grandson.

Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at Evergreen Funeral Home 1830 E. Fountain Blvd. Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910.

Graveside services will be at 9:30 AM on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
