Funeral services for Herman Dummer, 71 year old Farm Island resident, were held yesterday at 1:30pm from Hartman's Mortuary and at 2 pm from St. John's Evangelical Lutheran church in Aitkin. Rev. W.C. Hilpert officiated. Mr. Dummer died Sunday morning at his Farm Island home. Death resulted from pneumonia and heart trouble.
Born in Germany June 27, 1867, Mr. Dummer came to the United States when he was three years of age. Carver County, Minnesota, was his first residence here. For the past 35 years he has lived at Farm Island. Surviving him are two brothers, William of Farm Island and August of Mayer, and three sisters, Mrs. August Elling of Farm Island, and Mrs. Herman Terwedow and Mrs. Charles (Carl) Biersdorf of Mayer.
Pallbearers were Glen Johnson, Jim Anderson, Henry Emch and Gust Villnow. Interment was made in Lakeview cemetery. Mr. Dummer was a member of St. John's Lutheran church.
