DEATH OF G. W. GREEN
George W. Green was born in Adams County Illinois, May 16, 1862 and died at his home near Roads on June 30, 1922, age 60 years, 1 month and 14 days.
When a young man he came to Missouri and on August 16, 1883, he was united in marriage to Mattie Hazelip and to this union six children were born, one daughter, Ethel Maude, dying many years ago.
He leaves to mourn his departure: his wife and five ehfldrien, three sons and two daughters. John, Otha, and Everett, all of near Roads, and Mrs. J. R. Sebastian of Carrollton, and Inez of the home address. He also leaves two grand children, Junior and Mary Ellien Sebastian; of Carrollton, also three brothers and three sisters, besides a host of friends.
Many years ago when he was a young man he was converted and joined the Christian church. Later he took his membership to the Baptist church, and still in later years he came back to the Christian church.
Mr. Green was stricken with paralysis November 11, and since that day has been a great sufferer. No human hands could stay his terrible suffering and only death could relieve him from his pain.
Mr. Green was a kind husband and father a good neighbor and he will be greatly missed in the home and in the community where he has lived so many years.
Funeral services were held at the Antioch church Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. G. L. Bush of Carrollton.
