Our beloved Wanda Alvey Adair died Sept. 19, 1997, at her home in Richfield of cancer.
She was born Feb. 28, 1925, in Richfield, a daughter of James Leo and Blanche Vilate Roberts Alvey. She married Alvin Verl Adair Feb. 10, 1946 in Richfield. Their marriage was solemnized in the Los Angeles LDS Temple Feb. 10, 1964. They moved to Layton in 1947 where they lived until moving to Upland, Calif.,in 1957.
Wanda was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in various assignments including Primary teacher, Cub Scout Leader, Sunday School teacher, MIA and Relief Society counselor, secretary in the Young Womens's program and Relief Society visiting teacher.
Wanda went to Chaffy Collage in California where she received her certificate as a dietitian. She was employed at Shea Hospital.
In 1976, she went to work for Atchleys Group Home as a counselor and dietitian. She retired in 1989. At that time she and her husband moved back to Richfield. Wanda was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, Camp Cove, of Richfield.
Alvin died March 19, 1997, also of cancer.
She is survived by her children Pat and Roger Marshall, La Verkin; Donna and John Linville, Las Vegas; David and Joy Adair, Phelan, Calif.; Sheri and Bill Redd, Upland, Calif.; Rebecca Adair and Roseleta Adair, both Richfield; a foster daughter, Cindy and Aaron Bennett, Provo; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother and two sisters; LaVor Mikesell and Myrle Frye, both Richfield; Sylvia Johnson, Brigham City.
She was preceded in death by a son, Perry Douglas Adair; a daughter, Teresa Allene Adair Marmolejo; three brothers, Leon Mikesell, Von Syddall, and June Syddall.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 24, at noon in the Springer Turner Funeral Home chapel in Richfield where Friends may visit with the family one-half hour prior to the services.
Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina.
