Death: 1828

Gurard "Gad" Austin was the son of Capt. Nathaniel Austin and Agnes Austin and one of 11 children.
On Dec 8, 1763 he married Susanna Callendar, (daughter of Philip Callendar, Jr and Margaret Campe).
4 children were of this union:
*Nathaniel Austin (17641803)
*Phillip Adams Austin (17661838)
*Amos Austin (17681810)
*Stephen Austin (17701840)

According to the book, "Richard Austin of Charlestown Massachusetts" No record of Gad's burial has been found so far. Contributor Alice Austin Martin has suggested that the broken head and foot stones in the Sheffield Plain Cemetery, Hwy. #7, Sheffield, MA could mark Gad's grave site. The stones, are located between the graves of Susanna Callender
Austin, Gad's wife, and Elijah Austin, Gad's bro. The letters "D" and "AUS" can be seen roughly scratched into the footstone (visited 3 Oct 1995).
