Leonard J. (Len) Patulski, age 63, of Manistee went peacefully to the Lord surrounded by family, on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at West Shore Medical Center in Manistee following a short illness.
He was born on August 18, 1949 in Manistee, Michigan where he lived all of his life; he was the son of the late Leonard M. and Alice V. (Sampson) Patulski. He was a graduate of Manistee High School class of 1967.He later received electronics training in Fort Wayne, Indiana. As a teenager he worked for the Manistee Flower Shop. His adult employment was with A.D. Joslin Manufacturing as an engraver until his retirement. He married the love of his life Evelyn Wojciechowski on November 9, 1968 at St. Mary of Mount Carmel Shrine Church in Manistee. She preceded him in death on May 7, 2006. Len was an avid hunter and fisherman, loved nature, his beloved pets, and particularly enjoyed watching and feeding the backyard birds. He also was an avid NASCAR fan. Lenard was always willing to give a helpful hand to his family and supportive advice when asked. He was a communicant of St. Mary of Mount Carmel Shrine Church in Manistee.
Leonard is survived by two sisters-in-law: Marie Cabot and Jane Wojciechowski and friend, Gordon Secrest. He is also survived by cousins: Doug & Rhonda Sampson of Scherville, IN, Linda & John Devries & Mary &Charles Wisneski all of Manistee, MI, nieces and nephews, Christy & Ted Wood and their children: Nathan, Sean, Ashley & Jeremy Wood of Saugatuck, Dave & Cari Cabot and their daughters, Crissy & Courtney Cabot of Highland and Grand Rapids, and his beloved childhood friends, Deanna & Joan Sobota.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Evelyn, uncles Harold & Lawrence, cousin Ruth Sampson and brother-in-law, Larry Cabot.
Mass from The Order of Christian Funerals will be celebrated Monday, July 1, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Saint Mary of Mount Carmel Shrine Catholic Church in Manistee with Reverend John McCracken celebrant. Burial will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Manistee.
