HANNIBAL Mary Belle Scholl Trumbold, 76, of Chesterfield and formerly of New London and Shelbyville, Ill., died at 11:40 a.m. July 30, 2000, at her home.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2, at the Smith Funeral Chapel in Hannibal. The Revs. David Gottman and Neil Gottman will officiate. Burial will be at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Trumbold was born March 24, 1924, in New Florence to the Rev. John Boone and Lottie Baker Scholl.
She was married to Donald Trumbold on June 8, 1946, in New London. He survives.
Other survivors include two children, Carol Trumbold of Chesterfield and Kathy Shipp of Ruston, La.; and two grandchildren, Sarah Shipp and Andrew Shipp, both of Ruston.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe B. Scholl and John J. Scholl.
Mrs. Trumbold attended elementary and high schools in West Central Missouri, Auxvasse, Keytesville and New London. After earning a registered nurse diploma from Blessing Hospital in Quincy, she served for six months with the U.S. Army Cadet Nurses during World War II. She continued in her nursing profession for nearly 30 years.
The family wishes to include as a survivor, one son-in-law, Michael K. Shipp and that Mrs. Trumbold was the great-great-great-granddaughter of Daniel Boone.
Memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church Handbell Choir, the Hydesburg United Methodist Church or the Timewell Christian Church.
