Evert MINKEMA was born in IJlst, Friesland on Oct 26, 1874; son of Hendrik Minkema and Jeltje SPOELSTRA. He married twice to the same woman, Antje BERGHUIS, daughter of Pier Berghuis and Martha BOL; they came from the Province of Overijssel, Netherlands.
He married her first in Sutton, Mass on Sept 23, 1899; he was 24y and she was 22y. The 2nd marriage was back in Friesland on Sept 10, 1902...why, haven't a clue. I do know that he is a son from his father's 4th marriage. Other brothers and sisters from this union were:

Brother- Bauke, b. May 22, 1871
Sister- Regina, b. Feb 10, 1873; died Mar/1874
