Son of John and Elizabeth 'Herlemen' Romeiser. The family moved to Utica, MO in 1860 where he grew up and was educated.
On December 11, 1879 he married Ada Brock in Mooresville, MO. Their children were: Ida, May R., and Lena Brock.
He was engaged in the merchantile business in Utica for about 10 years. He moved to Jasper, Mo where he was still in the merchantile busiess until 1900 when he retired due to health.
He moved to Chillicothe after retirement.
He was a member of the Southern Methodist Church.
