Gordon was my grandfather. He worked as a mail clerk during the Great Depression, sorting mail on a train. He was a wonderful man. He drove a Ford Fairmont and loved to give me Girl Scout peanut butter cookies. He would oftentimes carry me to his bed at night as a slept while my grandparents were watching me. He tragically died a July afternoon in 1971 as he finished mowing the lawn. He was taking care of my grandmother, who was dying from cancer. He died of a genetic aortic anuerism that runs in his family. All of his brothers died from the same cause except Harvey, who was the oldest.
He was the son of Levi T. Myers and the grandson of Jacob and Mary A. Myers who are buried in Brighton Township Cemetery (New).
