Lander - Funeral services for Laramie resident Keith Dwight McDowell, 93, will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Hudson's Funeral Home by the Rev. Gene Hagerman of First United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.

He died Jan. 25, 2002, at his home.

He was born July 18, 1908, on a ranch near Casper, the son of Gilbert and Martha (Benwy) McDowell. His family moved to the Lander-Hudson area in 1914, where his father ranched and worked on the railroad. In 1928, he graduated from Fremont County Vocational High School.

He then served in the U.S. Marine Corps for three years and opened McDowell's Upholstery in California.

After eight years, he sold his shop and returned to Lander.

For 18 years, he was a supervisor at the Wyoming State Training School, retiring in 1968.

In June 1972, he married Leonore Tittsort in Brighton, Colo.

The couple moved to Laramie two years ago to be close to family.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife of Laramie; three stepchildren of Laramie, Salt Lake City and Dallas; two grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice, in care of Hudson's Funeral Home, 680 Mount Hope Drive, Lander 82520.
