A native of Pittsylvania County, VA, he was the son of Gertie Bell Shield Wells and Bradley Beverly Wells.
He was a veteran of World War II and spent all of his life in the Danville area.
He was a member of Life Underwriters and a member and deacon of Moffett Memorial Baptist Church.
In addition to his mother, he leaves his wife Eunice Pauline Anderson Wells, one daughter Mrs. Patricia Wells Fillion of Danville, one son David Michael Wells of Newark, DE, one sister Mrs. Ruth Collie of High Point, NC, Harold D Wells of Oakland, CA and one grandson Bryan Fillion of Danville.
Funeral services were conducted at Moffett Memorial Baptist Church with the Reverend Robert Russell officiating.
Interment was in Highland Burial Park in Danville.
