George Moses Tignal Botts, one of tho county's pioneer citizens, and a retired business man of the town died at his home here Wednesday night, Feb. 2 from the effects of a paralytic stroke which he suffered about one month ago. He had been in failing health for the past year or more, but his condition did not become serious until his final illness of four weeks' duration. The remains were moved from the home Friday morning for a brief funeral service at the Christian Church, of which the deceased was an elder and one of the oldest members of the local congregation. The funeral was conducted by Bro. J. 0. Snodgrass with the Trimble Lodge No. 145. F. & A. M. in charge and the Carter-Lodge No. 26-1. I. 0. 0. F. as honorary pall bearers, Interment took place in the Grayson cemetery.The deceased was a son of J. R. and Mary M, Botts and was born at the old cross roads near Barrett's Creek, less than one mile from town, March 6, 1858. He was one of a family of thirteen children, and had lived his entire life in or near the town of Grayson. When a young man, he was married to Elizabeth Horton who preceded him in death in December, 1900. To this union six children were born: Ota, Mary, Recie, Ora and George of Grayson and Ray Botts of Pocatello, Idaho. Three brothers and one sister also survive; Mrs.W. J. Lewis from near Grayson, James T. Botts of Havana, Kansas; R.W. and Robert Botts of Grayson.
