Hammond 82, of RD 1, Garnsey Rd.,
Port Gibson, died Sunday at his home.
Calling hours at the Scott Funeral
Home Inc. in Newark are today from 7
to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7
to 9 p.m.
The funeral will be Wednesday at the
funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Burial will
be in Port Gibson Cemetery at the
convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers contributions may
be made to the Port Gibson United
Methodist Church or the Wayne
County Unit of the American Cancer
Society.
M . Hammond was born Nov. 28,
1894, in Hornby, son of William H. and
Luella Harrington Hammond. A
resident of this area since 1921, he was
a farmer. He attended Port Gibson
United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, E. Marion
Hammond ; three daughters, Mrs.
Ward (Elaine) Brown of Clifton
Springs , Mrs. Charles (Agnes)
Robison of Wassaic, and Mrs. Jane
Henry of Palmyra; four sons, Fred
and John of Sodus, Donald of Clifton
Springs, and Thurlow of Newark;
three sister, Jennie Smith of Beaver
Dams, Clara Ribble of Horseheads and
Luella O'Meal of Palmyra; one
brother, William Hammond of
Marion; 14 grandchildren, one uncle,
several nieces and nephews.
