Russ Rinehart, Jr., 14, died Sunday night at his home in this city after a short illness of double pneumonia. Junior was in the 6th grade, and was active in all the activities of the elementary school. He will be greatly missed by many classmates and his teacher.
Russ, Jr., was born April 2, 1922 in Breckenridge, Texas, later moving to Steele, then to the State of Louisiana, then returning to Steele with his parents in 1932 where they have resided since. At the time of his death he was aged 14 years and 24 days.
Those of the immediate family who are left to mourn his passing are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Russ Rinehart; two brothers, J.W. and Ellsworth and one sister, Mary Frances.
Funeral services were held from the Methodist church Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by the pastor, Rev. M.A. Massey and assisted by Rev. J.B. Copeland of Cooter. Burial was made in the Little Prairie Cemetery at Caruthersville with the German Undertaking Co. in charge.
