Marsha Eleanor Bowers, 61, of Midland, Michigan, died at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, on Tuesday, June 18, 2013.
Marsha was born in Salamanca, New York, on April 13, 1952, to the late Marshall and Edith (Haas) Abbey. On July 20, 1990, Marsha married her sweetheart, Calvin Bowers, in Midland.
Marsha played softball and bowling in her younger years. As she got older she loved playing pool. She especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandson.
Marsha is survived by her loving husband, Calvin; daughters, Tracy (Eric Andrews) Stortz, Tammy (Dan Waskoski) Barto; grandchildren, John Brown, Brooke Rhodes, Danielle Sian, Joe Barto Jr., and Nicholas Barto; great-grandson, Dominic; sister, Gale (Tom) Bono; brother-in-law, Ronald Nagel; several nieces, nephews and cousins; extended family, the Godins from Windsor, Ontario, Canada, and Robert (Kathleen) Stortz of Hope. Marsha was preceded in death by her sister, Priscilla Nagel.
A memorial service will be held at Smith-Miner Funeral Home, 2700 W. Wackerly, on Saturday, June 22, 2013, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Don Duford officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the American Cancer Society.
