Maine Birth Records: Belinda Gray was born 21 Nov 1819 at Brighton, Maine. She was the daughter of James and Hannah (Jones) Gray.
1840 United States Federal Census: James Gray and his family were living in Wesley, Maine. Also living in Wesley was Abraham Huntley and an unnamed woman, assumed to be Belinda Gray Huntley.
Serena was born several months after her father's death.
1850 United States Federal Census: Belinda was living in Wesley with her husband, Perren Getchell. Also in the home were Hannah Getchell (age 8), Laurinda Getchell (age 6), Cyrena M. Huntley (age 10), Eliza Gray (age 15) and John Gray (age 19).
The Getchells and Serena Huntley moved to Minnesota. Belinda died at St. Anthony, Hennepin, Minnesota on 26 JUL 1851.
After Belinda's death, Serena successfully petitioned to be adopted by the Rev. Charles Gordon and Sara Jane (Daniels) Ames. (Source: Journal of the House of Representatives of Minnesota During the Seventh Session of the Legislative Assembly, 1856.)
She was the wife of George Burdict Wright. Their children included Vernon, Mary and Cyrus Wright.
Serena's maternal grandparents were Hannah Jones Gray and James Gray.
Serena's paternal grandparents were Isaac and Sarah (Munson) Huntley. Minneapolis Pioneers and Soldiers DOES have her listed:
"Lot 26 Block G.
Serena Wright
Date of Death: Mar. 22, 1868
Cause of Death: pneumonia & pleurisy
Age: 27 yrs
Lot: 26 Block: G
Birthplace: Wesley, Maine"
Apparently she was later moved from MPS to the family lot in Lakewood.
