He was the youngest of seven surviving children out of thirteen born. He suffered from tuberculosis, and his family had a small cottage built behind the family home for him to reside in during outbreaks of TB. Roger was an artist whose paintings hang in the homes of his siblings' descendants. He died at age 27 on May 21, 1940 in Cincinnati. Roger was buried in the Meiners family plot in Saint Joseph Cemetery in Cincinnati. His ancestry was German.
