Salle A. Brown was the daughter Alexander, 1820-1873, and Maragaret (Mouser) Brown, 1807-1882. She was the granddaughter of: Archibald and _____ (______) Brown and Frederick and Betsy (Donan) Mouser.

Her death certificate #13082 says she died of cancer of the breast according to her physician Dr. R. C. McChord, of Lebanon, KY. The informant was her son, Otis Mouser, of Big Stone Gap, VA. C. U. Bosley of Lebanon, KY was her undertaker and he said he officiated at her burial on May 23, 1915 in Hughes (???) Cemetery.

Mrs. Sallie A. (Brown) Mouser was buried in Edwards Cemetery on May 23, 1915.

Mrs. Sallie A, Mouser, aged 77 years, wife of John W. Mouser, a merchant at Riley, and one of the best known women in that section of this county, died at the home of her husband at (sic) several months illness of complication of troubles. Mrs. Mouser was confined to her bed for only two or three weeks but her condition having become critical condition her death, while a shock to her many friends , members of the immediate family, some of whom live in another State, were summoned several days before the end and were at the bedside when death came.

She had for a number been a consistent been a consistent member of the Methodist church, taking great delight in attending religious services, and doing whatever she could to help those around her.

Before her marriage Mrs. Mouser was Miss Sallie Brown and was born and reared in this county. Besides her husband she is survived by two sons, Otis and Edward Mouser, of Big Stone Gap, Va., and one brother, A. L. Brown, of near this city. The funeral services were held at the Methodist church at Riley Sunday morning and burial was in the Hughes cemetery near that place.
