Baxley - Cason
One of the prettiest weddings occuring in the city in some time was solemnized last Thursday at one o'clock when Miss Willie Maud Cason became the bride of Mr. Austin W. Baxley. The ceremony was performed in the presence of a large circle of friends and relatives.

The spacious Cason home was never so beautiful being converted into a veritable bower of spring time fragrance. Roses, ferns and Easter flowers were in profusion, carrying out the bride's color scheme of pink and white. This also being the celebration of the twenty-fifth wedding anniversary of the bride's parents, a touch of silver was mingled with the bride's color scheme.

Just previous to the entrance of the bridal party, Miss Ruth Lee, in her clear sweet voice, accompanied by Mrs. Robt. Lindsey, sang "A Palm of Love." At the close of the song, the strains of Mendelsshon's wedding march pealed forth and two tiny ribbon bearers, Little Miss Joel Barham and Master Frank Sublett, carrying stramers of rose and silver, marked an isle from the stairs to an altar of ferns and roses. Next followed Miss Emily Cason with Mr. John Thomas. Miss Cason wore a handsome dress of white organdie and lace with large picture hat. She carried a large basket of beautiful pink roses. The ring bearers, little Miss Marjorie Huey and Master Albert Brewer were the next to enter and take their places at the altar with the other members of the wedding party. They carried the rings hidden in tiny silver baskets.

Mrs. Chas. Perkins, in her sweet and charming manner then sang, "God Make Thee Mine."

The wedding march played by Miss Moody, a cousin of the bride, again pealed forth signaling the approach of the bride and groom who wended their way down the stairs and proceded to the beautiful altar where they were met by Rev. Taylor who read the beautiful and impressive double ring ceremony.

The bride looked quite charming in her wedding suit of gray with hat and accessories in harmony. She carried a gorgeous shower bouquet of bride's roses and lillies of the valley, making a lovely picture. Her only jewels were a diamond pin and lavelier, worn by her mother on a similiar occasion twenty-five years ago. The groom wore the conventional black.

A dainty refreshment course of pink cream and cake served on silver mats was served the guests immediately after the ceremony. Members of the Camp Fire Girls assisted in serving.

The happy pair departed on the afternoon train for a short trip during which time they were to visit relatives in Tyler. Upon their return they will be at home to their many friends at their apartments at the Jim Thomas home.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. K. Cason and is an accomplished and popular young woman. She is a graduate of the Nacogdoches Public Schools and also of Southwestern University at Georgetown, where she was an honor pupil. During her young ladyhood she has been much admired for her sweet manner and Christian character.

The groom is a much esteemed young man. He has presided in Nacogdoches for the past eight years during which time he has won the respect of all with whom he has been associated. He is a young man of sterling worth and character and is held in high regard by his employers, Mayer & Schmidt, with whom he has been connected since coming to the city.

Mr. and Mrs. Baxley were the recipents of many handsome bridal gifts as tokens of love and best wishes from their many friends.

Out of town relatives here to attend the wedding were Mr. T. H. Baxley and son of Tyler, father and brother of the groom, Miss Moody of Beaumont and Mr. W. T. Cason of Los Angeles, Calif. The bride's grandmother and aunt of Saint Louis, were also out of town guests.

Mr. and Mrs. Cason received the congratulations of their many friends on their anniversary and were also the recipents of numerous gifts.
