1- printed in the Blair Courier, June 21, 1900
We are pained to record the death of Mrs. J.P. Jensen which occured at her home about three miles southeast of Orum last Saturday evening. She gave birth to a child about a week before her death that is still living and will be reared by Mrs. Jensen's parents, Mr. and Mrs. B.P. Miller. A three-year-old boy will be taken by Soren Jensen. Rev. A. Larsen conducted the funeral services from the house on Monday, burial taking place at the Danish burying ground near Orum. The funeral was said to be the largest ever held in that part of the country, showing the high esteem in which Mrs. Jensen was held. The sympathies of all are extended to the bereaved husband and parents.
2- printed in The Pilot, June, 1900
The funeral of Mrs. Bertha Jensen, daughter of B.P. Miller of Kennard took place at Orum last Tuesday. Many friends sympathize with the sorrowing family whose circle is broken by this death, as well as the heart-broken husband who is left with the care of a young babe.
(A notation on the obituary card in the library file also identifies Mrs. Bertha Jensen's name as "Emma.")
(The Orum Cemetery's name is "Lincoln" Cemetery.)
