SERVICES HELD FOR MONTICELLO WOMAN FRIDAY, APRIL 30
Mrs. Maggie Monk Ricklefs, 90,died early Tuesday morning, April 27,at her home, 419 N. Maple St., Monticello.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 30,at 1:30 p.m. at Wayne Zion Lutheran church, Monticello. Rev. Luther Wachholz conducted the service. Interment was in the Wayne Zion cemetery Monticello.
Pallbearers included Leonard Monk, August Monk, Donald Monk, Roger Soper, Raymond Rickels and Richard Monk.
She was born September 25, 1874,daughter of Menno and Marie Bohlken Siebels, Shortens Ost Fries Land, Germany. She came to the United States in 1885. On December 20, 1892, she was united in marriage to Henry Monk,Monticello. After death in 1945, she was married to Herman D. Ricklefs on February 7, 1947. She was a member of Wayne Zion Lutheran Church. She lived all her married life in Monticello.
Survivors include Mrs. Mamie Prull, Monticello; Mrs. Sena Rickels, Monticello; Mrs. Ida Blohm, Martelle; Mrs. Ann Brockhorn, Monticello; Mrs. Rinehart; Augusta Siebels, Monticello; Mrs. Clifford Soper, Anamosa; August Monk, Anamosa; John Monk, Monticello; Conrad Monk, Langworthy; Henry Monk, Wyoming; George Monk, Hanford, Calif.; 36 grand children; 56 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by son, Menno; daughter, Ann; two sisters, her husbands, Henry in 11945 and Herman in 1958.
