George France settled in what is now Vanderburg County, Indiana, as early as 1810. In an early day he moved to Arkansas, "there being but sixteen white families in the Territory at that time." He returned to Indiana about 1837, and settled in Warrick County, Indiana and founded this Indiana France family line from which I descend. George was kicked to death by a horse in 1845 (month and day are unknown). George and Elizabeth (Whetstone) France were the parents of six children (according to a published biographical sketch).
