John C. Maxton Jr.

John C. Maxton Jr. of 227 N. 17th St., Camp Hill, died Tuesday in Holy Spirit Hospital.

He retired as a graphic artist from the state; was a graduate of Camp Hill High School and the Art Institute of Pittsburgh; a Navy veteran of World War II; a life member of Lower Allen Twp. VFW Post 7530; and a member of Camp Hill American Legion Post 43, West Shore Branch of Retired Men's Club of the Wise-men, and Camp Hill United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Joanne Maxton; a son, John C. III of New Cumberland; a daughter, Jean Barnes of Camp Hill; two sisters, Roberta Sweeley of Williamsburg, Va., and Valeria Weidner of Enola; and three grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in his church. Burial will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp.

Viewing will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Myers-Harner Funeral Home, Camp Hill, and 10 to 11 a.m. Monday in the church.
