L. E. HANSEN DIED AFTER LONG ILLNESS

Louis E. Hansen passed away in his home in Blair at 12:15 noon Friday, December 7th. He had been in poor health for several years and bedfast for eight months.

Deceased was born on August 26, 1885 on a farm at Argo, Nebraska, the son of the late Otto Hansen of this city. On February 18, 1910 he was married to Miss Anna Marie Tolstrap, and the couple moved to North Dakota where they homesteaded for five years, moving to Ruskin, Nebraska in 1915. In 1927 they moved to Washington County where they have lived since.

Five children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Hansen, the youngest of whom, Lyle, was killed on a bombing mission over Austria on February 23, 1944. Surviving Mr. Hansen, besides his wife, are the four children: Roy, Milton and Mildred of Blair; and Edward who is with the Coast Guard at Oakland, California. Other survivors are his mother, Mrs. Otto Hansen of Blair; the sisters, Mrs. Albert Schjodt, Blair; and Mrs. George Neve, Ringside, Iowa; two brothers, Martin Hansen of Tilden, Nebraska and Henry Hansen of Rock Island, Illinois; and a number of nieces and nephews as well as one granddaughter.

The funeral services were conducted in the Bendorf Funeral Home and the First Lutheran Church on Tuesday afternoon, December 11, with Rev. H. C. Jorgensen officiating. Burial was made in Blair cemetery.
