Glenda Lee Allen, 66, of Florence KS, died Thursday, June 23, 2005, at Newton Medical Center.
Glenda Lee, the daughter of Clarence Glenn and Virginia Lee Reece Pickens, was born Nov. 28, 1938, at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita. She grew up m Clearwater. She graduated from Clearwater High School. While in high school, she worked as a switchboard operator at the Clearwater Telephone Company.

In 1975, she married Si Allen and in 1977 they moved to Orlando, Fla. She and Si retired and moved to Florence in 1993. She was a member of the Florence Christian Church.

She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Brenda Andrews of Newton; two brothers, Dennis Pickens of Peabody and Randy Pickens of Wichita; two sisters, Donna Brown of Claremore,Okla. and LeEsta Hanes of Newton; stepson, Mark Allen of Dunbar, W. Va; two stepdaughters, Marsha Sims of Salina and Kathy Mann of St. Cloud, Fla.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Services were held Tuesday, June 28, 2005, at the Florence Christian Church A memorial fund has been established with the Church.
